Chair of Governors
We are a small governing body comprising of individuals from many different walks of life, some with a long standing service to the governing body and others new and still learning about the role. We are a happy bunch of caring individuals who work well as a group to lead Pinewood, a happy nurturing and successful school in to the future. We are all very committed in our role as governors and play an active role in school life, holding the school to account ensuring the best possible education for our children. We currently have a vacancy at present for a co-opted governor at Pinewood to sit on our Finance and Personnel Committee.
Meet the Governors
Our constitutuion is made up of 8 members with two current vacancies (one parent governor and one co-opted governor vacancy). The full governing body meets once each term. There are three committees that support the Head Teacher with the overall running of the school and these are:
(1) Finance & Personnel
- deals mainly with staffing and financial issues.
(2&3) Strategic and Pupils
- Oversees the curriculum, pupil progress and data
- Gives recommendations to the Governing body on the school development plan and monitors school effectiveness.
- Oversees admissions, special needs, attendance, absence, staffing, health and safety and other related issues.
We have link Governors that meet up frequently with key members of staff in relation to the school improvement priorities and link governor responsibilities.
